Waterleaf is currently designing a new transit-oriented, mixed-income housing development in an urban renewal district in Clackamas, Oregon. The project requires multi-agency coordination with the turnover of TriMet’s public property to a private developer and considerable testing of the new urban renewal design guidelines. The building is a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, addressing the need for family-sized affordable homes, and is located directly adjacent to a MAX light-rail station. The housing development includes amenities for the benefit of the residents, such as community rooms, play area, community garden, secure bike storage and space available to local community groups for their on-site use.
