Waterleaf collaborates with private building owners, nonprofits and public agencies on new mixed-use, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects throughout the Northwest. We believe in designing the most sustainable building solution for existing and new structures, renovating to meet seismic code, and providing universal access for future generations.
Our approach for design starts with meeting the needs of our clients and residents, listening to their vision and concerns, and recommending solutions to fit within the resources allocated for their projects.
At the crux of our work with higher education clients is a persistent, well-trained eye for the needs of students, researchers, and staff. Our work includes expansions, major infrastructural upgrades, classrooms, office space, residence halls, performing arts spaces, and world-class research laboratories.
Waterleaf has partnered with our region’s transit providers to provide design solutions for streetcar, light rail, bus stations, transit centers, operations & maintenance facilities, and transit infrastructure. We work creatively to develop thoughtful, sustainable designs that are responsive to public input and are carefully integrated into the communities they serve building livable communities through transit.
Wineries are a great interest and passion for our architectural practice as touch upon design sensitivity and experience that spans two poles of architectural practice: how the winery works and how the experience of the building feels for the visitor as they explore and enjoy the architecture and surrounding landscape.
Our team of talented professionals is proficient in the design of facilities pertaining to parks and recreation, public works and community centers.
